FROM WARHOL TO RICHTER

EXHIBITION AS A PLAY

Albertina has prolonged the exhibition “From Warhol to Richter” until March 31. The exhibition, which is also thrilling as a play, is covering almost all the main styles of painting of the second half of the 20th century.

Its dialogues are distributed between Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter, and the contemporary artists: Brigitte Kowanz, Los Carpinteros, Rainer Wölzl, and Kiki Smith.

We can observe concurring ideas, points of convergence and even the same “new colors” from different artists with different influences, on the one hand, and a variety of views, methods, and styles (from hyperrealism to abstraction) on the other.

The exhibition includes about 70 works.
